The Pennsylvania Young Republicans are proud to announce the election of four Young Republicans to the PA House of Representatives. Seth Grove, Nick Miccarelli, Matt Gabler, and Jim Christiana were elected on Tuesday, November 4 to serve as freshman members of the PA State House. Grove has been a PAYR Executive Board member for three years. Several other candidates also ran competitive races and were strong candidates. They included: Jason Davidek, Monica Douglas, Greg Hopkins, Matt Taubenberger, Jason Owen, Wally Zimolong, and State Senate candidate Lance Rogers.
 
YR State Chairman Tom Baker said, “We are inspired by all of the hard work that the YR candidates put into their campaigns and are looking forward to seeing Seth, Nick, Matt, and Jim make a positive difference in Harrisburg and in their communities.”
 
Several YR members also served as Victory and county staff leaders and organized  the efforts to get out the vote for Senator McCain, Governor Palin, Attorney General Corbett, and local candidates in their regions. The PAYR Political Action Committee also got involved in several of the YR races this year and made contributions to help candidates with yard signs and mail pieces.

The PAYRs held their biennial convention during the weekend of June 6-8 in Hershey, PA and elected a new slate of officers.

Congratulations to the new leadership team:

Chairman Tom Baker, Vice Chairman Tiffany Iriana, Secretary Brittany Tressler, Treasurer Heather Hallman, National Committeeman Justin Lokay, National Committeewoman Faith Bender, and Executive Director Justin Leventry

Several At-large Executive Board Members were also elected. They include: Jason Abela, Mike Baker, Bill Coder, Seth Grove, Benjamin Holland, Holly Lyristis, Nate Nevala, and Scott Thomas.

“I am honored to be serving in this role and am thankful to Chairman Adrienne Mitford and our other outgoing officers for all they have done for the PAYR’s. We have assembled a great team which will achieve great things for our party in the next two years,” said Chairman Baker.  

The next PAYR’s meeting will be held during the weekend of September 18-19 in Harrisburg.

The PAYRs are an active group of 18-40 year olds across the Commonwealth.  Whether we are assisting candidates on their campaigns, running for office, or networking with like-minded individuals, the PAYRs are moving the GOP in the RIGHT direction.
